Marvel Champions: The Card Game is a cooperative Living Card Game where players take on the role of Marvel heroes as they battle to thwart the plans of evil villains. In the game, players will call on iconic allies, use powerful weapons and armor, and unleash devastating tactics as they fight to defeat the villains of the Marvel Universe.
In each scenario of Marvel Champions: The Card Game, the heroes face a powerful villain with evil plans, as well as their own personal enemies that can be shuffled into the hero deck. On each turn, players will have to decide whether they want to play as a superhero and fight the villain directly, or transform into their alter ego to repair damage, prepare their troops, and fight the villain indirectly (which is an interesting strategic decision is during each turn). If the heroes can defeat the villain before completing their evil plan, the heroes win the game.
This is just the beginning of the Marvel Champions Card Game. New expansions will be released every month. Unlike other Living Card Games, Marvel Champions Card Game contains the complete set of cards needed to power up your superheroes.
In every game of Marvel Champions you step into the shoes of an iconic superhero. For example, you can take on the role of Tony Stark as Iron Man. With a 40-50 card deck you make it possible to suit Iron Man with an Arc Reactor or the Mark V Armor. When you're ready, put on the suit and give your enemy a devastating Repulsor Blast! Or maybe you take on the role of Spider-Man and defeat your enemies with your inhuman speed or invent a new Spider-Man.
As a superhero you can use your super strength to thwart and defeat the enemies.
You start each game as the alter-ego of the superhero. In the case of Spider-Man, you will first start as Peter Parker. Once per turn you can change the shape of your superhero. As an alter-ego you can heal yourself, while as a superhero you can cause damage to the enemy.
